Cookie Policy
Last updated: 28 August 2026 · Version 1.3
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies lostblip uses, why we use them, and what choices you have. lostblip is committed to using the minimum number of cookies necessary to operate the platform.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember information about your visit, such as whether you are logged in. Some cookies are strictly necessary for the site to function; others are optional and used for analytics or personalisation.
2. Cookies we use
lostblip uses ONLY strictly necessary technical storage to manage your session. Most of it is not stored as traditional cookies but in your browser's local storage – the privacy implications are the same, so we list it here in full for transparency. We do not use advertising or tracking technologies of any kind, and we do not share any data with third-party advertising networks.
| Item | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Session token | Strictly necessary | Keeps you signed in to lostblip – set by our authentication provider | Short-lived, renewed automatically while you are active |
| Session renewal token | Strictly necessary | Renews your session without requiring you to sign in again | Until you sign out or clear your browser storage |
| Bot protection check | Strictly necessary | Confirms you are not an automated script when signing up or signing in, set by Cloudflare Turnstile. It does not track you across other websites | Short-lived, cleared after the check completes |
| Last activity marker | Strictly necessary | Records the time of your last interaction, so we can sign you out automatically after a period of inactivity | Overwritten continuously while you use the site |
3. Analytics
lostblip uses privacy-focused, cookieless web analytics provided by Cloudflare. This allows us to understand platform traffic (such as aggregate page view counts) without tracking individual users, storing personal data, or placing any tracking cookies on your device.
4. Third-party services
lostblip uses the following third-party infrastructure services, selected for their strict compliance with EU data protection standards (GDPR):
- Supabase – Database and authentication provider. Processes login credentials and session tokens. EU-hosted (Ireland). See supabase.com/privacy.
- GitHub Pages & Cloudflare – Static site hosting, DNS routing, and security shield. They process network traffic and may log IP addresses solely for security, performance, and anti-bot purposes. See their respective privacy policies.
5. Your choices
The strictly necessary cookies listed above cannot be disabled without breaking the core functionality of the platform – they are technically required for session management. You may clear them at any time through your browser settings, which will automatically sign you out of lostblip.
You may also delete your account at any time via your profile settings. This self-service action removes your profile, your announcements and the content of your own messages. Any conversation you took part in is retained only in a form no longer linked to you, so that the other participant keeps their own side of the exchange. See Section 10 of our Terms of Service for the full detail.
6. Changes to this policy
If we introduce new core features or technical adjustments, this policy will be updated accordingly.
